In order to install Critical Labs successfully on a site, you must provide:
- A single point of contact for the project (phone number and email)
- Verification that at least one (10/100) switch is installed and all equipment is connected to a single network or VLAN that is reachable by the Critical Labs gateway (firewall configurations may apply)
- For static IP installations, static configuration information must be provided:
- Static IP
- Subnet mask
- Default gateway
- DNS servers
- For DHCP installations, an IP address must be reserved for the gateway in order to guarantee connectivity. Read about why here.
- For static IP installations, static configuration information must be provided:
- Verification that at least one PoE port is installed on the switch for the gateway to connect to. PoE injectors are available for purchase if needed.
- Internet access (for non-cellular installations)
- Verification that all equipment to be connected to the gateway communicates via Modbus TCP, SNMP v1, or SNMP v2c
- For SNMP devices, all community strings must be provided
- For SNMP devices, all MIBs must be provided
- To improve service, you may optionally provide:
- Vendor contact information for each piece of equipment to be connected to the gateway
- Service contact information for each piece of equipment to be connected to the gateway
Defining Views
- The Critical Labs team will build customized views to give you insight into your equipment
- The team will work with you to define a user list. Each user that wants access or alerts from Critical Labs must provide:
- First name and last name
- Phone number (optional)
- Text alerts will be sent to phone numbers on file. Message and data rates may apply
- Alerts (email/text) can be assigned to each user by view and by level of severity. Each user can have a custom set of alerts assigned to them.
